On the 7th of March 2015, KDF held its first Zumba® Fitness party at the SCAPE Ground Theatre to raise funds for diabetes research.
Held in conjunction with World Kidney Day, this first-of-its-kindcharity event for a research cause was graced by Cabinet Minister, Mrs Josephine Teo, and saw more than 150 Zumba® enthusiasts and members of the public participating in this 90 minute Zumba® Fitness workout.
The event also featured free blood pressure and BMI checks conducted by students from the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies. A mini charity bazaar was also held outside the theatre, featuring many unique and handcrafted accessories and modern art pieces by local artists.
A total of $26,500 was raised through the event, with all proceeds collected being channelled into the KDF-NUS Research Fund.
